Conservatives grappling to understand OWS fabricate intent with leading questions

October 8, 2011

I visit Forbes.com and I’m struck by two things: the articles are conservative and the articles are extreme. My reaction is surprise. My perception of Forbes.com has changed from a mainstream conservative magazine, to an extreme right wing fanboy site.

Take this article: Some Say Occupy Wall Street Protesters Aimless; Facts Say Otherwise re-posted by Forbes staff. Go to any protest rally around the world and ask if it would be nice to have free stuff, and you’ll receive a resounding “yes”. Go to any protest rally and ask if it would be nice to have lower taxes, and you’ll receive a resounding “yes”. No matter what side of politics, leading questions will result in fabricated statistics.

One respondent says she believes in “no healthcare”. The surveyor doesn’t think she’s clueless, but uses her response to paint a representative picture, that many in the crowd have dangerous ideas. The author takes the opportunity to rant about the goodness of vaccines and medicines. A particularly poignant point since the anti-vaccine lobby is from the extreme right.
